Skinfood Perfect Pore Cleansing Foam Review Is It Worthy

This was my first Asian beauty product.  I had no idea what to expect, other than information technology was the recommended cleanser by Charlotte Cho of Soko Glam fame, and I could not find a unmarried review where pH was listed.  Spoiler alert:  this does not have a happy ending.

The Description:

• A foaming cleanser that contains pore-purifying egg white and deep-cleanses pore-clogging impurities with rich white cream.

• Egg White Story: Egg white is loaded with albumin that consists of amino acids.

• To Utilise: Manipulate an ample amount onto wet palms and lather.  Rub face up thoroughly in gentle massaging motions, then wash off with lukewarm water.  Splash on cold water for astringent furnishings.

• how much product I get for the toll?
• how well the production works for its price range
• how long a product would last, how much I use?
• what I would pay for it

I bought this from package_go_fast on Amazon.com for $8.ninety.  It is 150 ml of production, which is quite generous for a cleanser at $0.06/ml.  Used twice daily, this should terminal about 5-six months.  I would take priced it in the $5-ten range, so information technology is definitely affordable.[4/5]

• does information technology have other beneficial ingredients?
• is the pH within acceptable/working limits?

Water, Myristic Acid , Glycerin, Stearic Acrid , Potassium Hydroxide, 50 a u r i c A c i d , Cocamidopropyl, Betaine, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil , Albumen Extract, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Trehalose Sodium PCA, Betaine, Sorbitol, Glycine,  Alanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Arginine , Lysine, Glutamic Acrid, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Mucilage, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil , Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Beta-Sitosterol, T o c o p h east r o l , Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Bloom Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Excerpt, Glycine, Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Butylene Glycol , Enanti Chorantha Bark Extract, Oleanolic Acid, Alcohol, Hydrogynated Lecithin, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Dimethicone , Propylene Glycol , Parfum

• Comedogenic ingredients are listed in blood-red.
• Irritation triggers are listed in orange .
• Potentially chancy ingredients are listed in royal .  (Note:  this is according to the rating organisation on CosDNA, which rates them according to reports from CIR, RTECS, and the FDA on if these ingredients could exist harmful with long term usage to the skin, cells, or man body.)

Running the ingredients through CosDNA brings upwardly a couple of acne and irritation triggers, with the highest beingness Lauric Acrid getting a 4/5 on comedogenicity, and Tocopherol (Vitamin Eastward) getting a 2/5 on potential irritation.  It also has added parfum, which tin can exist irritating to some as well.

Its star ingredient, Albumen Extract, is tenth on the list.  Egg whites cause the skin to have a "tight" feeling, and splashing cold water on after will prolong the feeling although these are only temporary effects.

This cleanser has some plant oils, such as olive, Argan, and sesame seed; too as some anti-inflammatory establish extracts much further down on the ingredient list such assaw palmetto,chamomile, licorice root, Centella Asiatica, soybean seed, and Enanti Chorantha bark.  Again, being a cleanser, it's only going to be on your skin for probably effectually a minute, and and so washed off.  There doesn't need to be a ton of skin-soothing or moisturizing ingredients.

And then?  What about the pH?  Does it pass?

Holy alkalinity, Batman!

Nooooo.  Nope!  I ran, not walked, away from this cleanser when my pH strips finally came in and I tested it.  I'm calling information technology a 9.v.  Waaaay too alkaline.  For fantastic explanations every bit to why highly alkaline metal cleansers (or anything, really) are non good for your confront, check out Pare & Tonics and Snow White & the Asian Pear, equally they have splendid and concise posts that explain that way amend than I could.[1/5]

Performance:

• does it practise equally advertised?
• does it strip my skin?
• does it interruption me out?
• does this burn down my eyes?
• how quickly does it deliver results?
• does the packaging work well for the production?

This comes in a plastic clasp type tube, which is pretty hygenic and very like shooting fish in a barrel to use.

It lathers up very hands.

This cleanser really does lather up well, which is kind of sad.  You need so picayune, and it washes off and then cleanly.  Likewise cleanly.  Waaay likewise squeaky make clean.  My face got instantly really tight as I'm washing this away.  It is entirely also astringent.  Likewise, if you get any in your optics, it buuuurns, preciousssss....

That being said, this is exactly what the product is advertised to practise.  I don't agree with it, but it's not like it's just accidentally over-tightening my skin.  It didn't deep clean and exercise annihilation for clogged pores, but it also did not interruption me out for the short time I used it, and then I guess that counts for something.[2/5]

Personal View:

• would I rebuy this product?
• would I recommend this production to others?
• is this product easy to obtain?
• is this an HG?

This product, while cheaper and easy to detect, isn't worth your money.  There are other affordable cleansers that work better than this one, within ideal pH range and doesn't strip your skin.  In that location'south a ton of production, so it'll terminal forever cleaning my makeup brushes, simply it'll never go on my face up over again.

I definitely would not rebuy this, and won't be recommending this to anybody.[1/5]

TL;DR:

The Good:  Very affordable, good packaging, and good amount of product.  Foams up readily and washes off cleanly.  Did not suspension me out.

The Bad:  pH is sky high and product leaves my pare feeling stripped.  Won't rebuy, wouldn't recommend.
